Marion Cook Marston of Essex, formerly of East Haven and Clinton
Marion Cook Marston was born on June 9, 1929 in East Haven. She was a lifelong resident of Connecticut--after growing up in East Haven, she lived for 21 years in Clinton and 35 years in Essex. Marion graduated from Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. She had a long career in nursing working at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, Ferry Point SNCF and Gladeview Health Center in Old Saybrook before retiring at age 68. Marion and her husband Tom were avid sailors cruising in and around Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River. Her favorite hobbies were traveling and playing bridge.
Marion was a proud mother of four children and an even prouder grandmother of five. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Thomas R Marston of Middletown, her sister Muriel C. Weber of Ledyard; her children Thomas Marston and wife Eileen Murphy Marston of Higganum; Susan Marston and partner Angie Borlik of Annapolis, Maryland; Gretchen Griffin and husband Dan Griffin of Old Lyme: Sally Marston of Deep River and her great grandchildren David Marston of Southington; Joseph Griffin currently in USAF - Afghanistan; Kathleen Marston Petersen and husband Eli Petersen of Danbury; Elizabeth Griffin and Megan Griffin from Old Lyme.
