Suzanne Knowlton, 78, Madison
Suzanne Knowlton, 78, of Madison, died on Aug. 10, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in St Louis, Missouri, on July 7, 1934, daughter of the late Paul C. and Marjorie (Jones) Knowlton. As a child, Sue and her family spent their summers in Madison. Sue graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1952, where she was very involved in multiple school activities, as well as sports and theater. Art was her utmost interest, which flowed deeper and broader than paint on canvas. Her artistic abilities were expressed in every aspect of her life and in all the lives that she touched. Her greatest passion in life was being the loving mother to her two children, Pam and Chet.
Sue began her career as a dental assistant in Missouri, which she continued once she moved to Connecticut in 1973.
Sue will be remembered by all as one of the most incredible, selfless, caring, loving women imaginable. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Leo Shakofsky; her son Chet Zuroweste and his spouse Leigh Van Hennik; her three grandchildren, Madeleine, Ryan, and Devon; and her two great-grandchildren, Leo and Laine. She is also survived by her lifelong companion, Dewey Zuroweste. She was predeceased by her sister, Jane Malik, and her brother, Paul C. Knowlton III.
