#Branford4Orlando- Town Hall Under Rainbow Lights June 20
UPDATE Press Release (Branford, CT) June 20, 2016: As of this morning, rainbow flags will be displayed along Main St. in Branford; and beginning tonight Town Hall and the Blackstone Library will be illuminated with rainbow lights in remembrance of the victims of last Sunday's deadly attacks at Pulse, an Orlando, FL-based nightclub. The flags and lights on Branford's most iconic building will start tonight and continue for one week from sunset to midnight.
The lighting of the Town Hall will take place at a special event tonight on the green in the town center, beginning at 8:30 p.m. Special guest speakers at the event will include First Selectman James B. Cosgrove, Toni Cartisano, Colin Sheehan, Chris Velardi. Music will be provided by Branford High School's Choir students and alumni, under the direction of Cathyann Roding.
Cosgrove stated, "Branford will illuminate Town Hall and the Blackstone Library to honor the 49 victims of the Orlando terrorist attack. This targeted attack, rooted in hate and intolerance, strengthens our resolve to stand together in solidarity."
